TGC TENNIS & PICKLEBALL

Tascosa Golf Club offers state-of-the-art tennis and pickleball with nine championship courts.  Three indoor courts, six indoor pickleball courts, and six lit outdoor courts are available at the Tascosa Athletic Center Complex.

Indoor Court Fees:  $8 per person (two people minimum) or an individual reservation for $16.
All courts are reserved in 30 minutes to 1.5-hour blocks maximum for tennis and pickleball.
Outdoor Court Fees: No fees for members. $20 per person for non-members.
Non-Member & Guest Fees: $20 per person plus associated court fees or lesson fees.

The Tascosa Athletic Center now offers online booking for all courts and reservations. Reservations and check-in are required for both outdoor and indoor courts. If you come up and a court is free, you can book your reservation on-site, but an advance reservation is requested when possible. If you are a TGC member, please use your email on file to log in to our CourtReserve system. To register for a CourtReserve account, click here. TGC Membership is NOT required to have a CourtReserve account; for more information, call our TGC Athletics ProShop at 806-342-3051 ext. 8, and we will be glad to get you and your family set up!

Clay Estes, Tennis Professional 

Clay Estes Tennis Professional joined the TGC Tennis team with 18+ years of coaching experience and has a passion for working with competitive juniors. Clay is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional. He was a member of the 1996 Tascosa 5A High School State Championship Team. #1 Ranked Junior Tennis Player multiple years in both singles and doubles and played NCAA Division I Tennis at both Texas Tech University and the University of Minnesota. Clay had wins over top 10 world ranked players including former #1 players Andy Roddick and Leyton Hewitt. Clay is available for private lessons, group lessons, and team lessons.

Dawna Wine, Tennis Professional 

Dawna Wine, Tennis Professional joined the TGC Tennis team with 13 years of Division I collegiate coaching experience, 4 years as a Division I player, and 4 years of club teaching experience. Dawna is a native of Borger, Texas, and is very familiar with tennis in the Texas panhandle.  After a successful collegiate coaching career, Dawna decided to move closer to family and relocated to Amarillo. Dawna spent 4 years teaching at Amarillo Country Club before she and her husband, Robbie opened D-BAT Baseball and Softball Academy. Dawna and Robbie have two girls Piper and Paxton. Dawna is available for private lessons, group lessons, and team lessons.

Benjy Priddy Barton,Tennis Professional 

Benjy Priddy Barton was born and raised in Amarillo and has experience in group coaching, as well as competitive play in NCAA Division I. She started playing tennis at age 7 at Tascosa Country Club.  As a young player, she was successful in singles and doubles in the super championship division in Texas.  She has competed in nationals and in tournaments in 6 different states.   Benjy played tennis for Coach Ann Valentine at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT for three years before a shoulder injury ended her college career.  She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology.  She has taught at BYU Summer Tennis Camps, Foothill Athletic Club in Utah, and summer tennis camps at the Amarillo National Tennis Center with Jan Munch-Soegaard. Benjy is available for private lessons, youth tennis lessons, and group lessons. USPTA Certified Professional.

Taylon Knorpp, Tennis Instructor and Manager
Taylon Knorpp, a Tennis instructor with TGC Tennis, began playing during his junior year in high school.  He taught himself to play without formal coaching and advanced to regionals in mixed doubles, and regional finals in boys doubles his senior year.  His other passion during school was journalism. He won several journalism awards and became the state runner-up in UIL journalism with his work published in the Texas Electric Co-op Magazine.  His athleticism did not stop with tennis; he played baseball and was the All-State Defensive end 2A in 2016.  He attended West Texas A&M University on a business scholarship, majoring in finance and business management.  In 2017 he initiated into the Kappa Alpha Order, served as Pledge Class President, and served as historian and the Recruitment and Social Chair for two terms.  Taylon joined TGC Athletics in 2019 in multiple roles such as joining the TGC Tennis coaching team in 2021 and is currently pursuing his athletic training certification.

 

Alex Mdzinarshvilli, Pickleball & Tennis Professional
Alex Mdzinarshvilli is an accomplished Tennis Coach with over 30 years of experience working across diverse age ranges of players. An experienced instructor, with a passion for coaching others, and watching them climb the ladder of success. Adept in helping others to understand and practice the basic fundamentals of tennis, as well as the most up-to-date game strategies and techniques. Third generation tennis player. Played for Tbilisi State University in Tbilisi, Georgia, and participated in various ITF tennis tournaments in Europe. Coached and raised high-level professional and college players: Irakli Labadze - ATP ranking #42 in 2004; George Chanturia played NCAA D1 for Oklahoma University 2009-2011; daughter Kati Mdzinarishvili played NCAA D1 for University of Akron 2014-2015. Strong Interpersonal Communication Skills | Individualized Coaching Plans | Fundamentals of Tennis Knowledge | Forehand Techniques | Backhand Techniques | Serve Techniques | Sportsmanship

  • Make court reservations in advance by using CourtReserve

  • Check-in when you arrive

  • 4 Player max per court

  • Non-member and guest fees are $20 per person

  • We are now booking private & small group lessons

  • No teaching or coaching on courts if you are not a TGC Pro or without prior approval

  • Please respect staff efforts to clean courts and hoppers between reservations

  • Balls, water, pro shop merchandise and stringing services are all available from TGC Athletics Pro Shop
